Muskan Yadav’s Story
Bachelor of Commerce at Jesus and Mary College (JMC), Delhi University.
In a quiet pocket of Bangalore, Maneesh’s story unfolds, not with noise or grandeur, but with quiet strength, resilience, and unwavering hope. A student of Civil Engineering, Maneesh has walked a path few of us could truly fathom, facing life’s adversities with a determination that defies the odds.
Maneesh comes from a humble yet resilient family of five. His father, a skilled foreman, is battling serious health issues and can no longer work. His mother, once a dedicated school teacher, saw her salary halved during the COVID-19 pandemic. To keep the household running, she took on several small jobs and became the family’s sole breadwinner. With a bedridden grandmother and a younger brother still in school, the family is under immense strain. Despite a fundraiser, they are burdened with a huge debt from medical expenses, education, and living costs.
Maneesh’s academic journey began at Matha School, a modest institution supported by a charitable trust. Known for its discipline and quality education despite limited resources, the school played a vital role in shaping his early years. After class 10, he pursued a diploma and later secured lateral admission to Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore, in civil engineering through sheer merit.
Financial challenges forced Maneesh to make tough choices like commuting several hours daily due to unaffordable hostel fees, taking a loan to pay his college tuition fee, and learning technical tools on his own. Yet, essential academic expenses and equipment costs remained out of reach. His journey shows his strength, determination, and ability to keep going, even when life gets tough.
What stands out most about Maneesh is not just his academic talent, but his integrity, humility, and drive to uplift his family. He dreams of advancing to a master’s in structural engineering, not only to build a career but to rebuild the financial stability of his home and support his brother’s aspirations of becoming a cardiologist.
At Shiksha Sankalp Society, we are honored to walk beside students like Maneesh, young changemakers whose stories remind us of the quiet strength that exists in every corner of our country. His journey is not just one of survival but of purpose, grit, and the promise of a better tomorrow
