Suraj Sharma has worked tirelessly to pursue his education despite significant financial challenges at home. Coming from a modest family, Suraj has had to balance his studies with the realities of limited resources. His father, who previously worked as a cab driver, lost his job and also has eyesight issues that limit his ability to work consistently. As a result, major household responsibilities have shifted to his elder sister, who supports the family with her modest income from giving tuitions. With limited sources of income, funding Suraj’s education has become increasingly difficult, making external support essential for him to continue his academic journey.
Currently pursuing B.Com (Hons.) at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Suraj chose this course out of a strong interest in commerce, finance, and accounting, with plans to build a career in consulting or investment banking.
Suraj has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, securing 89.6% in Class 12, 94% in CUET, and maintaining strong performance in his college studies. Even from an early stage, his dedication to academics was recognized when he received a scholarship in high school under a corporate CSR initiative. These achievements reflect not only his talent but also his determination and ability to stay focused on his goals despite challenges at home.
Receiving the Shiksha Sankalp Lakshya Scholarship will be a crucial support for Suraj. It will help cover his tuition fees, reduce the financial burden on his family, and allow him to focus fully on his studies and professional growth. Suraj plans to use this opportunity to gain practical experience through internships, enhance his skills, and eventually build a career where he can make meaningful contributions in the fields of finance and consulting.
