It’s a fair question to ask before you give: will your gift support one student whose name you know, or a shared fund? Some donors want a personal connection. Others simply want to know their money is working. Both are good reasons to give, and at Lakshya we offer both. Here’s how each option works and how to choose.
Option 1: Give to the Lakshya Scholarship Fund
When you give through our donate page, your gift goes into the Lakshya Scholarship Fund. You can choose one of three levels:
- $600 covers one year of tuition for a student.
- $1,400 covers one year of tuition plus hostel (dorm) and mess (meal) fees.
- $5,600 covers tuition, hostel, and mess fees for a student’s full four-year degree.
You can also give any amount, once or monthly. Monthly gifts give our scholars steady support through the school year, and you can change or cancel yours at any time.
Every contribution is used to award scholarships to deserving Lakshya scholars. The fund is what lets us promise a student support for all four years of college, not just one semester at a time, and that promise is what keeps students enrolled through graduation. You can see where every dollar goes.
Choose this option if what matters most to you is the outcome: more deserving students finishing college.
Option 2: Sponsor One Named Student
If you give $5,600 or more, you can choose to become the named sponsor of one Lakshya scholar. That amount covers one student’s tuition, hostel, and mess fees for the full four-year degree.
There are two ways to start:
- Give on our donate page. After a gift of $5,600 or more, we’ll contact you to ask whether you’d like it to become a named sponsorship.
- Email us first. If you’d like to talk before you give, write to support@resolve4education.org with the subject line “Full Scholarship Sponsorship.”
Named sponsorship is always your choice. If you’d rather your gift go to the general fund, it will.
What Named Sponsors Receive
Once you choose named sponsorship, we will:
- Reply within 10 business days and introduce you to your scholar with a short profile. We’ll share their first name, college, course, home state, and photo.
- Send you updates on your scholar’s grades and progress each semester.
- Let you decide how involved you want to be. You can connect with your scholar and offer encouragement and guidance along the way, or you can stay anonymous.
Meet a Sponsored Scholar
We will arrange a web conference or a personal visit so you can meet your sponsored scholar and learn more about their journey.
Which Option Is Right for You?
Give to the fund if you’d like to give any amount, give monthly, or trust us to direct your gift where it’s needed most. Your gift still supports real students; you just don’t choose which one.
Choose named sponsorship if you can give $5,600 or more and would like to follow one student’s journey from first year to graduation.
Every Scholar Is Selected the Same Way
Whether a student is supported by the fund or by a named sponsor, they go through the same merit-and-need screening and document verification. Named sponsorship changes who funds a student’s education. It doesn’t change how that student was chosen. Learn more about how we select our scholars.
