When Nazneen walks across the campus of Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR), she carries with her more than books and notes. She carries the quiet determination of a young woman who grew up hearing that girls from her community rarely completed school, let alone pursued a degree in education. Yet here she is, in her first year of the Bachelor of Elementary Education program at Delhi University, already reshaping expectations for every girl who will come after her.
Nazneen’s story begins in a small family that migrated from Bihar to Delhi with a simple but courageous dream: education. Her father, a tailor, left behind the familiarity of home so his daughter could study without barriers. Her mother, who never had the chance to attend school herself, became her most consistent source of motivation, reminding her that education is the one inheritance no circumstance can take away.
What makes Nazneen’s journey remarkable is not just the 95 percent she secured in class 12 or the academic excellence award she received from Delhi’s Chief Minister. It is the way she prepared for her future even before she knew what it might look like. While studying for CUET, she enrolled in a short digital marketing course simply because she wanted to build skills that could serve her later. She is the kind of student who studies not for marks but for possibilities.
The Shiksha Sankalp Lakshya Scholarship arrives at a time when her family is stretched by the expenses of educating multiple children. Financial stress often sat quietly at the edges of her ambition, but never once did she allow it to define her choices. This scholarship eases that weight. It gives her the freedom to study without constantly calculating what the next semester will cost.
Nazneen dreams of working in research, exploring how young children learn, and shaping better ways to teach them. She wants to contribute to the very system that once felt distant to girls from her background.
Her journey is not framed by dramatic turning points. It is built through steady, consistent effort, made possible by a family that believed in her and a scholarship that now believes in her potential.
