Khushi Pandey's Story

Meet Shiksha Sankalp Scholar Khushi Pandey

Khushi’s story is rooted in quiet determination. She comes from a small, close-knit family of five. Her father works in a private transportation company, a job that demands long hours and constant effort. Her mother, a homemaker, is the steady heart of the family, managing everything with care and resilience. With her father as the only earning member, every expense must be planned carefully, leaving little room for unexpected costs.

At Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi, first-year student Khushi Pandey is quietly shaping a future that blends intellect, empathy, and ambition. Pursuing a B.A. Program in English and History, Khushi sees her education not just as a route to a degree, but as the foundation for a life of purpose and service. Her dream is clear, to one day join the Indian Foreign Services and represent India on the global stage.

For Khushi, her subjects are more than academic choices. English strengthens her ability to communicate and connect with people from different backgrounds, while History helps her understand how societies evolve and how lessons from the past can guide wiser decisions in the present. Together, they are shaping her perspective on leadership, governance, and change, qualities she hopes to bring into her future role as a civil servant.

As the eldest child, Khushi carries both responsibility and hope. She wants her younger siblings to study without financial worries and to dream without hesitation. The Shiksha Sankalp Lakshya Scholarship has been a meaningful support in this journey, easing her family’s financial burden and allowing Khushi to focus fully on her studies and future aspirations.

But there’s more to Khushi than her academic discipline. She is a high-energy, lively personality, someone who lights up conversations with her curiosity and warmth. She loves playing volleyball and believes that teamwork in sports teaches lessons as valuable as those in the classroom.

Her fascination with languages adds another dimension to her personality. She has taught herself the basics of Chinese and Korean, and her passion grew stronger after she was selected for a government-funded cultural exchange trip to Japan during school. The week she spent there left a lasting mark. She was inspired by Japan’s discipline, simplicity, and sense of community. Since then, she has been self-learning Japanese, with a plan to work as a Japanese translator if her path ever takes a different turn.

For Khushi, the Shiksha Sankalp Lakshya Scholarship is more than financial assistance; it is a reminder that her hard work is seen and valued. It reassures her that she isn’t walking this journey alone; there are people who believe in her potential and want her to succeed. That belief has changed the way she approaches her studies, not as a daily struggle, but as an opportunity to learn with purpose.

Khushi isn’t in a hurry to make big changes overnight. She believes in steady, thoughtful progress, the kind that begins with listening, grows through understanding, and eventually leads to meaningful action.
