Harish Nagpal is the driving force behind Shiksha Sankalp Society, a purpose-driven initiative founded on the belief that education is the greatest equalizer. He is committed to supporting talented students from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring that financial constraints never stand in the way of their aspirations. For nearly three decades, Harish has served as Director of Amtech International, a company he co-founded in New Jersey, USA. Under his leadership, Amtech has grown into a leading manufacturer and supplier of precision components for Fortune 500 clients, rooted in innovation and global collaboration.

Harish’s mission is deeply rooted in personal experience. Born to refugee parents after the 1947 Partition of India, he saw education lift families from hardship. His mother, one of seven daughters, was the only one to pursue formal education. Despite facing many challenges while balancing family duties and studies, she persevered. In 1968, she and Harish’s eldest sister graduated together with Bachelor of Arts degrees from the same college at Delhi University. Inspired by her example, all her sisters went on to earn BA degrees, with four becoming teachers. His mother eventually retired as a school principal, always encouraging everyone she met to pursue education.

Inspired by this legacy, Harish pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering in the U.S, laying the foundation for a successful global career. Now, in what he calls the “Returning” phase of life, and guided by Andrew Carnegie’s timeless philosophy of Learning, Earning, and Returning, Harish dedicates his energy, wisdom, and resources to advancing the mission of Shiksha Sankalp Society. 

Alongside this purpose, his greatest joy comes from the quiet, meaningful moments he shares with his four grandchildren. Whether teaching them life’s essential values or learning from their innocence and curiosity, these moments deeply inspire him. He treasures his family, and his continued fascination with emerging technologies reminds him that growth and exploration are lifelong pursuits, no matter the stage of life.
