Darkasha Bano’s Story

Meet Shiksha Sankalp Scholar Daraksha Bano
Daraksha Bano is a determined and resilient student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in B.Pharm (Ayurveda) at the Rajiv Gandhi South Campus of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), located in Mirzapur. Her journey has been marked by profound personal loss and incredible resilience. In 2021, Daraksha lost her father during the COVID-19 pandemic. Two years later, her mother passed away in a tragic road accident. These back-to-back tragedies left the family devastated, but Daraksha made a courageous decision to continue her education despite the emotional and financial challenges.
Originally from Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Daraksha comes from a family of five siblings. Her eldest sister is married, and her younger brothers are also pursuing their studies, with one supporting the family financially by working as a tailor in Delhi.
After her mother’s passing, Daraksha was determined not to give up on her education. Alongside her studies, she tutors students online, managing her own living expenses independently. Her dedication to the medical field comes not only from personal passion but also from her parents’ dream of seeing her become a healthcare professional who serves the poor with compassion and affordable care.
Shiksha Sankalp Society is proud to support students like Daraksha, who inspire us every day with their resilience, purpose, and unwavering commitment to education.
