HARISH NAGPAL
Founder
Harish Nagpal is the driving force behind Shiksha Sankalp Society, a purpose-driven initiative founded on the belief that education is the greatest equalizer. He is committed to supporting talented students from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring that financial constraints never stand in the way of their aspirations. For nearly three decades, Harish has served as Director of Amtech International, a company he co-founded in New Jersey, USA. Under his leadership, Amtech has grown into a leading manufacturer and supplier of precision components for Fortune 500 clients, rooted in innovation and global collaboration.
Harish’s mission is deeply rooted in personal experience. Born to refugee parents after the 1947 Partition of India, he saw education lift families from hardship. His mother, one of seven daughters, was the only one to pursue formal education. Despite facing many challenges while balancing family duties and studies, she persevered. In 1968, she and Harish’s eldest sister graduated together with Bachelor of Arts degrees from the same college at Delhi University. Inspired by her example, all her sisters went on to earn BA degrees, with four becoming teachers. His mother eventually retired as a school principal, always encouraging everyone she met to pursue education.
Inspired by this legacy, Harish pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering in the U.S, laying the foundation for a successful global career. Now, in what he calls the “Returning” phase of life, guided by Andrew Carnegie’s philosophy of Learning, Earning, and Returning, Harish channels his experience and resources into Shiksha Sankalp Society, nurturing future leaders and creating a lasting legacy of educational equity.
Dr. SANGITA NAGPAL
Principal Mentor
Dr.Sangita Nagpal is a distinguished paediatrician with over 40 years of experience in child and adolescent healthcare, combining clinical excellence with deep compassion. A board-certified practitioner trained in New York and an alumna of Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University, she spent her career in the United States providing comprehensive paediatric care, supporting not just physical health but also nutrition, development and psychosocial well-being.
Motivated by the transformative mission of Shiksha Sankalp Society, Dr. Nagpal joined the organization to extend her lifelong dedication to youth development. She believes that fulfilling a child’s educational dream can create a powerful ripple effect, one that self-propagates and uplifts entire families, communities, and future generations.
At Shiksha Sankalp Society, she draws on her deep understanding of child and adolescent development to provide thoughtful guidance, emotional encouragement, and student mentorship. She plays a vital role in shaping a nurturing environment where young individuals are supported academically and as a whole, resilient human beings.
KALPANA DANG
Head of Scholarship Program & Communications
Kalpana is a passionate champion of education’s transformative power, holding an MBA and bringing over 15 years of experience in the corporate world. With a successful career at global firms like Godrej, Motorola, and Sun Microsystems across India and Singapore, she led key IT initiatives and stakeholder engagements, sharpening her strategic and operational expertise.
Believing education is the most potent catalyst for social change, Kalpana transitioned from the corporate sector to education consulting, guiding students to navigate the intricate college admissions landscape, equipping them with clarity, confidence, and a roadmap to academic success.
At Shiksha Sankalp Society, she leads scholarship programs with passion and precision, while also shaping the organization’s brand voice and digital presence, helping amplify its mission to a wider audience. Kalpana envisions expanding the organization’s impact by creating a supportive ecosystem powered by data-driven strategies and authentic engagement, enabling more underprivileged students with potential to access the opportunities they deserve.
DEEPAK LABBA
Regional Head – South India, Strategic Partnerships
With over three decades of global experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain leadership, and international trade, Deepak Labba brings a powerful combination of professional excellence and a deep personal commitment to educational equity. At Shiksha Sankalp Society, he leads outreach and collaboration efforts across the southern region, especially in Hyderabad and Telangana.
A qualified international trade professional and a seasoned mentor, Deepak has held key leadership roles in the global engineering sector, earning accolades such as the Regal Star Award for New Product Development and the Global Leadership Award for cost optimization. He is also the Founder Partner of Aaryak International, a supply chain consulting firm that works closely with global industry experts.
Deepak’s passion for education drives his efforts at Shiksha Sankalp Society. He has actively engaged with the local agencies and NGOs to strengthen the society’s grassroots presence. A key milestone under his leadership is the 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Shiksha Sankalp Society and IIT Hyderabad. This partnership supports the Girl Child Hostel and Mess Fee Excellence Program, which empowers girls in STEM by fully funding their hostel and mess fees, ensuring financial constraints don’t hinder their access to quality technical education.
ASHOK NARANG
Regional Head – North India, Outreach & Compliance
Ashok Narang brings over 40 years of distinguished service with the Airports Authority of India, where he retired as Assistant General Manager. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a deep sense of social responsibility, quietly supporting families and children in need alongside his professional commitments.
After retiring from his long-standing career, Ashok sought a purposeful way to continue contributing to society. He found alignment with the mission of Shiksha Sankalp Society and was honoured to join the initiative to empower deserving students through access to quality education.
As the North India Regional Head, Ashok facilitates a smooth and fair scholarship selection process, ensuring rigorous oversight of applicant data verification, maintaining transparency and integrity throughout the program. His decades of administrative expertise and a personal commitment to uplifting the underprivileged make Ashok a key pillar in advancing the Society’s mission across North India.
